Together with local artisans and chefs, you will step into the living traditions that shape the heart and soul of this region. We will explore the area’s incredible food culture and visit surrounding villages to learn from the most talented, warm-hearted people who have dedicated their lives to preserve some of the most beautiful ancestral art forms in Mexico: pottery, plant dyeing, weaving and traditional cooking. -

Creative Rememberance Retreat
SIERRA SUR, OAXACA

Spend a week with us in a small village cradled in the mountains: a magical place where you will feel like you go back in time. We will explore and deepen our creativity in relation to the Natural world through learning cotton spinning, natural dyeing and cooking from local artisans, cacao mornings, journaling/drawing, Tai Chi, nature walks, and sitting in a “temazcal” (mud sweat lodge). This experience is designed for you remember the sacredness of your creativity.

A Love Story with Oaxaca
I was born and raised in Mexico City, and over 11 years ago, I visited Oaxaca for the first time. My life was forever changed. Oaxaca’s creative energy, its people, colors, and flavors captured my heart. At the time, I was working with Turkish artisans, co-creating and selling jewelry all over the world. I loved my work, but I really wanted to work with Mexican artisans. My soul craved to feel a deeper connection to my homeland and Her people. My friend Mariana, who is originally from Oaxaca, took me to visit a group of weavers in Santo Tomas Jalieza. From then on, Oaxaca kept calling me back. Doors kept opening, and I continued to meet more master artisans and crafts people. I learned new skills from them while creating a deeper relationship with the land. Oaxaca welcomed me with open arms, slowly revealing her secrets and magic. With every visit, I fell more and more in love with her food, people, art, markets and culture. This magical place has helped me reconnect to my roots, transforming my life in the most beautiful way.
Now, we have woven a series of beautiful educational experiences and creative retreats for others to have the opportunity to learn from some of the most talented artisans and traditional cooks in Oaxaca, while getting to know this beautiful, healing, magical land.
